Rountree and I “aren’t even in the same group right now.”

Jamahal Hill is angry at those who think Khalil Rountree can beat him.

Rountree (13-6 MMA, 9-6 UFC) put on a valiant performance in his title loss to light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira at UFC 307 earlier this month. Rountree won the first two rounds before being struck and finishing in the fourth round.

In his last appearance, Hill (12-2 MMA, 6-2 UFC) suffered a first-round knockout loss to Pereira at UFC 300 in April. He was scheduled to face Rountree at UFC 303 in June, but pulled out due to injury. His performance against Pereira (12-2 MMA, 9-1 UFC) drew comparisons to Rountree’s, but Hill is confident he would easily beat Rountree if they ever fought.

“The way Pereira beat Khalil, for example – Pereira couldn’t beat me that way,” Hill told Sportskeeda. “And secondly, I would have beaten Khalil from the jump. He would have been beaten like this before in battle. Pieced together with your hands? Come on, brother. That’s what I do. People have recency bias and things like that. If anyone thinks Khalil is on my level, let’s look at how he wins a fight because he’s not the same – we’re not even in the same category right now.

“He had a shot at the title just because he was an easy touch for the champion, he’s a good opponent for the champion. He is No. 8 and has suffered a defeat. I’m in the top five. He must achieve a victory before he stands up and before that is even possible. And if he gets a win, and that ever happens, then whoever thinks he can beat me will bet $1 million on it. Bet your house on it. Real talk. I bet no one will bet on what they really want to lose. Nobody takes this bet.”

Hill revealed that he has already signed a contract for his next fight. “Sweet Dreams” did not announce the opponent, but with former title challenger Jiri Prochazka also recently signing, many are speculating it could be him.
