The Arsenal manager has worked with Wilshere during his transition to coaching at Arsenal following his retirement in 2022 and has accompanied the 32-year-old on his journey as coach of the Gunners’ Under-18 team.
As Pink Un exclusively reported yesterday, Wilshere is in advanced talks about joining Johannes Hoff Thorup’s coaching team, reuniting him with City’s sporting director Ben Knapper.
Arsenal are understood to be extremely proud of Wilshere’s coaching career at the club, while City are in talks with the Premier League challengers over compensation that is unlikely to cause any problems. Confirmation of the move could come early next week.
Arteta was asked about Wilshere ahead of Arsenal’s big game against Bournemouth this weekend and was quick to praise his work with the young talent.
