Mystery Inverness bidder revealed as he considers new 11th hour bid but does NOT want to become chairman

THE mysterious investor interested in pumping money into administration-threatened Caley Thistle may be revealed… as Moray businessman David Anderson.

Anderson, who specializes in the IT and finance sectors, was said to have had positive discussions with Inverness Caledonian Thistle on Thursday about a deal that could prevent the club from going into administration.

Anderson, from Cullen, met Board members had previously expressed their willingness to invest £1.2 million in the club for a 50.45 per cent stake.

It is not known whether the meeting, at which full financial details were revealed, changed the nature of the offer, but representatives for the businessman say he is NOT seeking to become chairman, only to join the League One team help.

This came as Caley Thistle issued a short statement announcing that the deadline for bids had “expired”, without revealing whether any further offers were on the table.

GRM Marketing’s Gordon Ritchie, who assisted Anderson in the negotiations along with Inverness businessman Don Lawson, said they met with interim Caley Thistle chairman Scott Young and board members Graeme Bennett and Gordon Fyfe on Thursday.

Ritchie said Anderson has had “productive discussions” with board members and will now retract any information he has received before considering whether to make a final offer.

Ritchie said: “We had a very positive meeting with the board.

“We divided ourselves into two rooms in which we forensically analyzed the numbers and the investor is now provided with all the information they need.

“The board members discussed the options for the club. It was a good, positive meeting.

“Time is an issue, but my investor wants to make sure he knows what he is getting into.

“He made it very clear that he didn’t want to run a football club forever, he just wanted to help.

Ex-Rangers star Duncan Ferguson has been seen leading an “army” of helpers while shoveling snow from the Inverness pitch.

“It was a good meeting, now that the information has been given he needs to go away and think about it.

“He wants to do his due diligence and figure out if it’s a good investment.”

“It looks positive. He doesn’t want to become that next As chairman of the club, he is only interested in helping out.”

Caley Thistle’s statement said: “The board can confirm that the time has come and gone for all interested parties to make offers for the club.”

“We are currently reviewing our position and will make an announcement in the coming days.”
