Also, being on the practice squad, a group of 17 players who practice against the main roster and can be called up for NFL games at any time, is something Rees-Zammit believes will help his development this season.

“I look at this year, especially the position change, as a learning year and just trying to do as much as I can as a receiver. As I said, if an opportunity arises, I will try to grab it with both hands and get a place in the team,” said the 23-year-old.

“Right now, as a practice player, I’m just focused on giving our defense the best look possible and also trying to run the routes I have to run as best as I can and learn every day.” The classroom with the receivers, the Receivers coaches and special teams is huge too.”

Rees-Zammit has been in London over the past two weeks for the Jaguars’ games against the Chicago Bears last Sunday – a 35-16 loss – and the New England Patriots this weekend, and was part of an NFL Foundation event this week the Prince of Wales. The pair posed for a photo wearing a Jaguars jersey with “HRH 24” written on the back and took part in throwing practice, with Rees-Zammit joking: “He’s a lot better than me.”
