Pools confirmed for Women’s Rugby World Cup England 2025 | Women in rugby

Prior to the draw, the 16 qualified teams were divided into four groups based on the Women’s Rugby World Ranking as of October 14, with the top four teams in Group 1 (England, Canada, New Zealand and France) each ranked first Pool.

Hosts and current women’s rugby world number one, England, have been drawn in Group A against Australia, the USA and Samoa.

In Pool B, world number two Canada will face Scotland, Wales and Fiji.

Reigning champions New Zealand will be joined in Pool C by Ireland, Japan and Spain.

Rugby World Cup 2021 bronze medalists France will be drawn in Pool D alongside Italy, South Africa and Brazil.

Teams play each of their group opponents over three weekends, with the top two teams based on competition points in each group qualifying for the quarter-finals and knockout stages.
