Ignored India Star posts ‘Ready to strike’ on the day India played their best for 46. The internet says, “Bro knows the timing.”

Team India posted its third lowest Test total on Thursday, bowled out for 46 in the first innings of the ongoing first Test against New Zealand in Bengaluru. After the opening day of play was washed out, five Indian batters went to Ducks on the second day as Matt Henry and William O’Rourke grabbed five and four wickets respectively. This was the lowest home score and the third lowest overall. On the same day that the Indian team suffered a dramatic collapse, veteran batsman Ajinkya Rahane shared a post about his training on Instagram.

Given the timing of his post, fans tried to make a connection, suggesting that Rahane was trying to imply something. For those inexperienced, Rahane is eyeing a comeback to the team after last playing a Test in July last year.

Rahane posted a video on Instagram in which he was seen training online. “Ready to attack,” Rahane captioned one video.

Here’s what fans commented on his post:

“Bro knows the time to post.”

“Rahane bhai saw the opportunity and posted immediately.”

“Hahaha. Timing the ball and timing the post. To the point.”

“Great timer, perfect time to post this exercise clip.”

Rahane recently led Mumbai to the Irani Cup. However, he failed with the bat in his last outing as Baroda defeated Mumbai in the Raji Trophy last week.

Meanwhile, New Zealand scored 180 for three in their first innings in reply to India’s 46 all out.

India fell to their lowest ever Test total in just 31.2 overs at home, with five home batters failing to even open their accounts.

Rishabh Pant scored 20 points while opener Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 13 points. None of the other Indian batsmen scored in double figures.

In complete contrast, New Zealand fought solidly and built a lead of 134 runs at the end of the day’s play.

Devon Conway (91) and Will Young (33) formed a 75-run partnership after the Kiwis lost Tom Latham (15).

Rachin Ravindra (22) and Daryl Mitchell (14) were at the batting spot when the stumps were pulled for the day due to poor lighting conditions.
