Leicester City goalkeeper Mads Hermansen has revealed how he was once injured in an incident during Man United star Rasmus Hojlund’s international match.

Hermansen suffered a tooth loss after a collision with Hojlund during a training session with Denmark.

The incident occurred as Denmark prepared for Euro 2024 last summer and the team was practicing set pieces.

Speaking on former Man United goalkeeper Ben Foster’s Fozcast, Hermansen revealed that Hojlund collided with him while fighting for the ball, which resulted in him losing a tooth.

“As a goalkeeper you sometimes know when you have practiced set pieces. It’s like, “Are we going 100 percent? “Are we just being a little loose?” said Hermansen.

“So we were with the national team shortly before the European Championships, it was optional training, you could come over and train if you wanted.” So we make a few turns.

“I say, ‘Keepers!’ And he just comes in with everything, elbow right to my tooth. “When I was younger I also took off a corner so it was just the same piece of plastic.”

Hermansen and Foster expressed different views on Hojlund’s approach, with the latter claiming his approach was overzealous for the training session.

“Cheers, Rasmus, I appreciate it,” Foster said. “That’s nonsense. I don’t have that, it’s bad.

“If you’re doing it as a practice piece, you have to take it easy. You can’t get full-blooded like that.”

Hermansen disagreed with Foster’s view and said the incident was a reflection of Hojlund’s professionalism.

The 24-year-old praised the striker for giving his all in every meeting with the team.

“He’s that kind of guy, and that’s what I love about him,” Hermansen said. “He always gives his all.” “He just has an extraordinary way of being a professional.”

The Danish team-mates will appear in different sides later this month when Man United host Leicester in the Carabao Cup on October 30.

Hojlund would soon have the chance to test Hermansen again from corners when the Foxes travel to Old Trafford in the Premier League again on November 10.

The Man United star himself suffered a disrupted start to the season due to an injury, which limited him to just one appearance in seven Premier League games so far.

Hojlund will be hoping for his first Premier League goal of the season when Man United host Brentford on Saturday.
