Chris Sutton has great “feeling” when predicting the score between Man Utd and Brentford, he believes one team will come out on top

BBC Sport pundit Chris Sutton has tipped one team that Manchester United will take all three Premier League points in their upcoming game against Brentford.

Manchester United host Brentford at Old Trafford on Saturday. Kick-off for the Premier League duel is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. British time.

The Red Devils are currently 14th in the Premier League table, having only picked up eight points from a possible 21 so far.

United picked up a point in their final Premier League game before the start of the October break as the Red Devils played to a 0-0 draw with Aston Villa.

The Red Devils have only managed two league wins in seven games this season and Erik ten Hag is under huge pressure ahead of Saturday’s Brentford game.

Sutton on Brentford before the game against Man Utd

Brentford are currently 11th in the Premier League table and Thomas Frank’s side are two points ahead of Manchester United after seven games.

The Bees picked up all three Premier League points in their final game before the international break in October as Brentford beat Wolves 5-3 at home.

Chris Sutton recalled in his BBC Sport column that United were lucky to beat Brentford 2-1 last season thanks to a late brace from Scott McTominay.

However, the BBC Sport pundit admitted that Erik ten Hag “needs a win” at the weekend after the Red Devils’ poor start to the 2024-25 season.

“I was at this game last season and Brentford scored early but Scott McTominay scored twice in stoppage time to give Manchester United the win when they didn’t deserve to win,” he wrote.

“This time? Well, Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag needs a win as his side sit 14th in the table and are the second-worst scorer with five goals from seven league games.

“Logic tells me that although Brentford haven’t picked up an away point yet, they are the better team and have been the better team all season.”

Sutton makes a prediction for Man Utd against Brentford

Sutton revealed that he has a “feeling” that United will “go ahead” against Brentford and is betting on Ten Hag’s side to win 2-1 at Old Trafford.

The 51-year-old former Celtic and Blackburn Rovers striker said he followed Statman Dave’s “advice” when making his Premier League predictions.

“We also know the Bees still love an early goal, so they’ll probably go back in front… but I just have a gut feeling that United will somehow get the better of this goal again,” Sutton continued.

“I can’t really tell you why, other than they have to, and also because Statman Dave said it would be 2-1 to Manchester United, so I’m taking his advice. “Hopefully he’s better than that with his predictions with his statistics.”
